Smriti Mandhana Wedding Put On Hold: The wedding of Indian women’s team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and Bollywood music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed for the time being. Due to the deteriorating health of Smriti’s father Srinivas Mandhana, it was decided to postpone it indefinitely. Palash’s sister Singer Palak has appealed to take care of the privacy of both the families.
New Delhi. The wedding of Indian cricket team star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed due to her father Srinivas Mandhana falling ill. A day after this news, the groom’s sister Palak issued a statement. He wrote on his Instagram story, “Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold for the time being. We request all of you to respect the privacy of both the families in this sensitive time.”
Indian women’s cricket team superstar Smriti Mandhana had to postpone her wedding ceremonies on Sunday after her father showed heart attack-like symptoms. As soon as the symptoms appeared, an ambulance was immediately called at the wedding venue and Smriti’s father was soon taken to the local hospital. Due to this medical emergency in the family, all the wedding preparations were stopped and Smriti refused to get married in the absence of her father. Smriti’s fiance Palash Muchhal’s health also deteriorated, after which he too had to be taken to the hospital.
According to NDTV sources, Palash was admitted to a private hospital for treatment due to viral infection and increased acidity. However, his problem was not serious. After treatment, Palash has been discharged from the hospital.
What is the update on Smriti Mandhana’s father’s health?
Smriti Mandhana’s family doctor Dr. Naman Shah said that a medical team is deployed to monitor her health. If there is significant improvement in Shri Mandhana’s health then he can be discharged from the hospital today.
Dr Shah told PTI, “Around 1:30 am, Mr Srinivas Mandhana developed chest pain on the left side, which is medically called ‘angina’. As soon as the symptoms appeared, his son called me, we sent an ambulance and he was shifted to the hospital. ECG and other reports showed that cardiac enzymes were elevated, so we had to keep him under observation.”
Celebrations regarding wedding preparations were going on for a week at Smriti’s house in Sangli, Maharashtra. All this stopped before the much-discussed wedding on Sunday. As far as the remaining rituals and wedding are concerned, the entire program has been postponed indefinitely. The new date of marriage and the remaining programs will depend on the speed of improvement in Shri Mandhana’s health.
