BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi believes that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's photo should not have been removed from Banga Bhavan. He said, 'I think his (Sheikh Mujibur Rahman) picture should not have been taken down. Khandaker took down Mushtaq, Ziaur Rahman took it up.
He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the free medical camp at the party's central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Tuesday (November 12) morning. Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) organized this camp on the occasion of 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day'.
Rizvi said, 'After August 15, 1975, Khandkar took down the picture of Mushtaq Sheikh Mujib. On November 7, Ziaur Rahman came to power through the sepoy revolution. But he brought Sheikh Mujib's picture back to Bangabhaban.'
This spokesperson of BNP said, 'Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established Bakshal, banned all parties after independence, the process of killing democracy came from his hands. Earlier in 60s freedom movement, people believed him, voted him in 70s. But he could not keep his promise. Although he did not play any role in the war, people remember his role in the independence movement before the war of independence. The indomitable brave Major Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman has declared the war of independence.
Complaining that many of those who have not contributed a single point to the democratic movement are acting as advisers and secretaries to the democratic movement, Rizvi said, 'This interim government is bound by blood debt. Those who have become secretaries today have no contribution; Those who have become health ministers also have no contribution. Contribute to those who sacrificed their lives in July-August. Many of the leaders and activists of the party lost their lives while creating the background of the movement that BNP had earlier. Ilyas Ali, Humayun Parvez, Saiful Islam Hiru, Zakir, Janira – those who have bled, suffered in the crossfire, their contribution.'
Rizvi complained, 'The current health ministry is acting like an insurance against the nationalist forces. He was very upset when the DAB leaders spoke. I don't know if the health advisor led a difficult life, let alone the movement. I am shocked to hear, health advisor, health secretary does not even treat DAB doctors well. It is a sad incident.'
He said, 'How many boys have been shot in the anti-discrimination student movement, many are still crying in the hospital, how many of you have gone to see them? We recognize you too. who are you You are Sheikh Hasina's friend. Today you are becoming Secretary, Additional Secretary by confusing things. Doctors who were in favor of the movement, those who supported the democratic movement – if Hasina had survived today, doctor Rafiq, doctor Kakan would not have had a job. But when they talk, you feel annoyed, you misbehave, you have become advisors and secretaries sitting on the soil of this blood-soaked Bengal.'
Also present at the event were BNP Chairperson's advisor Dr. Farhad Halim Donor, Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam, co-health affairs editor Dr. Parvez Reza Kakan and others.
Correction of speech
A revised copy of Ruhul Kabir Rizvi's speech delivered at the Free Medical Camp and Blood Donation program has been sent to the media. Rizvi said in the notification signed by BNP's Assistant Office Secretary Muhammad Munir Hossain, “My attention was drawn to a news published in the media on Tuesday (November 12) that 'Sheikh Mujib's picture has been taken down from Bangabhaban'.” I thought Sheikh Mujib's picture was taken down from the Durbar Room of Banga Bhavan where all the presidents' pictures are kept. Originally the picture was moved from another office room in Banga Bhavan.'
He said, 'Sheikh Hasina's fascist regime has made it mandatory to keep pictures of Sheikh Mujib. Fascist laws can have no effect. The office-court should not keep signs of mismanagement everywhere. I am sorry for the unsolicited statement.'
