Shakib Al Hasan's bowling action was found to be flawed. A few days ago he went to England and took the bowling action test. Failing there, he will not be able to bowl in any tournament under the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). This time, BCB said in a press release that the left-arm spinner will not be able to bowl in international cricket as well as in any tournament outside the country due to an error in the action.
In a press release on Sunday night, BCB said, 'Though Shakib is unable to bowl for the time being, he can continue to play as a batsman in all forms of domestic and international cricket. BCB is aware that Shakib will soon go for re-evaluation at an ICC accredited testing center in an attempt to validate his bowling action. '
According to clause 11.3 of the ICC Rules for Illegal Bowling Actions, if a national cricket federation bans a player from bowling in its domestic competition, the ICC will automatically apply the ban to international cricket and domestic competitions of other national cricket federations.
Shakib is currently playing for Galle Marvels in the Lankan T-Ten League. He scored 6 runs in 3 balls in today's match against Colombo Jaguars. He is playing only as a batter there.
Played a county match for Surrey against Somerset last September. Shakib took a total of 9 wickets in that match. After the match, the umpires expressed doubts about his bowling action. Later, Shakib took the exam in a university in England. Evidence was found that Shakib's elbow bent more than 15 degrees while bowling.
According to the BCB, Shakib can apply for re-evaluation at an ICC-approved testing center under Article 11.4 of the ICC. If his bowling action is found to be valid as a result of this test, he will be able to bowl in international and all domestic cricket competitions.
Shakib has approached the laboratory in Chennai to test the bowling action. If he gets India visa, he will go to Chennai to take the exam after the ongoing Lanka T-Ten Super League. Before that he will go from Sri Lanka to UAE to get India visa. If you don't get Indian visa then you have to go to England to take the exam again.
