All banking activities of the state -owned Rupali Bank PLC will be temporarily closed for five days. The decision was taken to make the bank's data center transfer and to complete it smoothly and properly.
Bangladesh Bank's 'Office Supervision Department' (DOS) issued a notification on Tuesday (July 7). It said that all kinds of banking activities of the silver bank will be temporarily suspended from July 7 (Thursday) to July 7 (Monday).
In view of the application of the Rupali Bank, the Bangladesh Bank Companies Act, 1, has given this permission in the power imposed under section 4.
The notification also said that the decision was taken in the interest of conducting the bank's data center in the stipulated time. However, after the scheduled time, all the activities of the bank will continue as usual as before, sources have confirmed.
Customers may suffer some of the temporary activities of the bank, but authorities say the service will be launched at the fastest time by completing the work on priority basis.
