Ratan Tata Death News: Tata Group Chairman and veteran industrialist Ratan Tata died in a hospital in Mumbai late on Wednesday (9 October 2024). He was 86 years old. He died at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai at around 11:30 pm. He was admitted to the hospital for the last few days. Ratan Tata's mortal remains will leave for the last rites at 3:30 pm.
Sources say that his last rites will be performed as per Parsi customs at the crematorium in Worli. However, Dokhmenashini tradition will not be followed in this. According to sources, his mortal remains will be brought to the Parsi cremation ground in Worli. Here first the mortal remains will be kept in the prayer hall. About 200 people can be present in the prayer hall. There will be prayer for about 45 minutes. 'Geh-Sarnu' will be read in the Parsi tradition in the prayer hall. Then the entire first chapter of 'Ahanaveti' will be read by placing a piece of cloth over the mouth of Ratan Tata's mortal remains. This is a process of peace prayer. After this process is completed, the dead body will be placed in the electric crematorium and the last rites process will be completed.

Body kept in NPCA lawn for last darshan
The mortal remains of Ratan N Tata will be taken to NCPA Lawn, Nariman Point Mumbai on Thursday (10 October 2024) at 10:30 am, so that the general public can pay homage to the departed soul. Tata Group issued a press release saying that we will request the general public to enter the NCPA lawn through Gate 3 and exit through Gate 2. There will be no parking facility in the premises.
