Newspaper Khabar (March 26): ‘Tehran has asked for information on the shipment of fuel purchased by Bangladesh’

The main headline of the English daily The Business Standard— Tehran seeks Bangladesh energy shipment details; That is, Tehran has asked for information on the shipment of fuel purchased by Bangladesh.

According to the news, Dhaka has sought diplomatic assistance from Iran so that fuel-carrying ships bound for Bangladesh can safely cross the Strait of Hormuz amid the disruption caused by the ongoing war.

In response, Tehran sent a letter to Dhaka, asking for detailed information on shipments of fuel purchased by Bangladesh.

A day after receiving the letter, Bangladesh’s energy department on Wednesday provided Iran’s foreign ministry with a list of six ships bound for Bangladesh and other detailed information.

Where the detailed information of six ships carrying about five lakh tons of liquefied natural gas or LNG and about 79 thousand tons of crude oil has been given.
