The Max Group 33rd National Swimming held 10 events as usual on Monday. The only record came in the final part of the day in the boys' 4 x 200m freestyle relay. Kajal Mia, Mahmudunnabi Nahid, Samiul Islam Rafi and Asif Reza participated in it. This Navy team took 8 minutes and 10.51 seconds. The previous record is also theirs. At that time the timing was 8 minutes 06.01 seconds.
Samiul Islam Rafi has previously participated in 4 events and set personal records in 3 of them. On this day, he made a big contribution to making the team record. At the end of the swim, an excited Rafi was saying, 'It feels good to bring success to the team as well as the personal record. Moreover, we enjoyed the relay event very much. My timing is already getting better. It feels good to be able to maintain the consistency of performance.'
In other events of the day, Jewel Ahmed of Bangladesh Army won gold in boys' 1500m freestyle, Sukumar Rajbanshi of the same organization in 50m breaststroke, Mahmudunnabi Nahid of Bangladesh Navy in 100m butterfly, Asif Reza of Navy won gold in 50m freestyle.
Besides, Navy's Sonia Akhter won two golds in the girls' event. He first won gold in the 800m freestyle. He then won the 100m butterfly. In other events, Mukti Khatun of Bangladesh Army won gold in 50m breaststroke, Annie Akhtar, Sonia Khatun, Yuthi Akhtar and Sonia Akhtar of Navy won gold in 4 times 200m freestyle relay. Bangladesh Navy's Yuthi Akhtar won gold in 50m freestyle.
32 events have been settled so far. Out of this, Bangladesh Navy won 24 golds and Bangladesh Army won 8 golds. Only 4 companies have been named in the medal list. Air Force got 1 bronze and BKSP 5 bronze.
