Hefazet Islam leaders were shocked by the appointment of film director Mustafa Saryar Faruqi as an adviser to the interim government. They strongly condemned and protested this appointment.
On Monday (November 11), Hefazte Islam's Dhaka metropolitan president Maulana Junaid Al Habib and general secretary Maulana Mamunul Haque protested in a statement sent to the media.
In a statement, they said, “We are shocked by the inclusion of film director Mustafa Sarayer Farooqui as an advisor to the interim government.” He is a friend of Shahbagi atheists. Late Hefazat Amir Shah Ahmad Shafi (R.H.) has shown extreme audacity by calling him Tetul Huzur which is unforgivable. We strongly condemn and protest against his appointment as an advisor.
These Hefazat leaders said the previous government capitalized on Mujibism and established a fascist regime. The downfall of the tyrannical ruling group was ensured through the mass uprising of the students. Mostafa Saryar Faruqi and several advisers are friends of the fallen Awami government. At various times, he has praised and supported Sheikh Hasina's government in various ways including social media. In addition, Farooqui was close to several leaders of the fascist government, including the former Minister of State for Information and Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak, who was close to Sajib Wazed Joy. He also made clear his position in favor of a kind of fascists, which was totally unacceptable in the eyes of his countrymen, by calling for symbolic reforms of the regime after the popular uprising. In exchange for the blood of thousands of brothers in the July Revolution, the interim government was overthrown by the fascist government through a mass coup, and the scholars and scholars together with the students of this country put it in power.
They also said, “Unfortunately, this government has also become active in rehabilitating fascists.” Those who killed our brothers have not yet been brought to justice. Instead, they are trying to rehabilitate Awami fascism. To the Interim Government in no uncertain terms, our children have defeated fascism with their lives. If you try to rehabilitate fascism, this country's vast monotheistic masses will not forgive you either. They claim that the country lacks qualified people? The countrymen want to know why a dramatist like Faruqi has been appointed as an advisor.
