22 thousand 500 crore rupees have been given to 6 weak banks, said the governor of the central bank. Ahsan H. Mansoor. He gave this information in a press conference of Bangladesh Bank on Thursday (November 28).
The governor said that customers will start receiving money from these banks from next Sunday. However, he requested customers not to withdraw extra money unless necessary.
The governor said, we are providing liquidity assistance to weak banks. This is provided to protect the depositors. 22 thousand 500 crores have been paid so far.
Central Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansoor said in a press conference that the Central Bank wants to eliminate instability in the banking sector. Banks will be given liquidity support, customers do not have to worry about their deposits, Bangladesh Bank has a headache about this.
At that time Ahsan H. Mansoor also said that the condition of the banking sector is not getting worse but it was already bad. Now efforts are being made to improve that situation.
The governor said, 'We will provide liquidity on the one hand, and on the other hand we will slowly remove the old money from the market. This may reduce the country's inflation.
On August 13, immediately after taking charge as the governor of Bangladesh Bank, he said that liquidity assistance will not be given to weak banks by printing new money.
