The trial for the killings in the July uprising has not yet begun. The process of treating the injured and rehabilitating the victims is also going on at a slow pace. On the other hand, the leaders of various parties and organizations have come down to show their power to take credit for the coup. As a result, mass uprisings are being questioned.
Ruhin Hossain Prince, general secretary of the party, said these things on the first day of the country-wide democracy campaign organized by the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) on the first day of the march from Purana Paltan Mor to Bahadur Shah Park and mass communication.
Ruhin Hossain Prince said, the mass coup that took place in July-August 2024 through the blood donation of hundreds of people, is going to be questioned by the power today. The power of communal evil is increasing. People's desire for democracy is being hindered. To put an end to this situation, the issue of transfer of power to representatives elected by direct popular vote has become important. But when you hear about the current government election, you are presenting various arguments and falsehoods.
He said, there is no liberation without radical change. Reform is a process for this radical change. This process will continue. Therefore delaying the election due to reforms is not acceptable in any way. At this time, he quickly demanded to announce the specific date of the national parliament election.
He said that they are trying to suppress the voice of the people by issuing various instructions. Many journalists are being fired, the reign of fear does not seem to recede. The mismanagement of autocratic regimes has not gone away but in many cases is on the rise. There is no alternative to radical changes in the social system to end this situation.
Other leaders in the rally said that extortion, occupation and insecurity are a constant. Taxes are being taken from people's pockets by increasing VAT on everyday products. Unemployment has been increasing in the country for a long time. The minimum wages of workers could not be determined. The loan defaulters are being given various benefits without collecting the money. The looter syndicate shows no signs of breaking up.
The leaders said that the central leaders of the party are participating in marches and public relations in different parts of the country in the week-long democracy campaign. CPB President Mohammad Shah Alam Chittagong Region, General Secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince Khulna Region, Assistant General Secretary Mihir Ghosh Gaibandh and neighboring areas and other central leaders will participate in the CPB organized march in various district upazilas of the country till January 27.
