Renfe reinforces the medium distance service between Madrid and Seville through Extremadura

From this Monday until Friday, Renfe will reinforce the medium-distance service of the line that connects Madrid and Seville passing through Extremadura, after the suspension of railway circulation due to the accident in Adamuz (Córdoba).

Renfe will operate a new train tomorrow and Thursday from Atocha station to Sevilla Santa Justa that will depart at 10:55, while on Wednesday and Friday a train will depart at 11:50 from Santa Justa station, heading to Atocha.

A few hours ago, Renfe already announced that it was working on an alternative extraordinary transportation plan, starting tomorrow, for travelers affected by the suspension of rail traffic after the accident.

During the entire day this Monday, high-speed rail traffic between Madrid, Córdoba, Seville, Málaga, Huelva, Cádiz, Algeciras and Granada will be suspended after the Adamuz accident. The president of Renfe, Álvaro Fernández Heredia, has announced that the resumption of rail traffic on that high-speed line will take days.

Given the cutoff in rail traffic, Iberia and Air Europa have reinforced their services to guarantee mobility between the south and the center of the Iberian Peninsula, while Alsa also intends to increase its offer between Granada and Madrid if it detects an increase in demand.

Iberia has increased its operations with eight new frequencies (round trip) that connect Madrid with Seville and Malaga, with an increase in seats of 1,526. Air Europa will offer from tomorrow and, in principle, until Friday, 360 more seats per day between Madrid and Malaga. (Efe)
