Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. In a statement today, Friday (16 January), he called for proper help and assistance to the affected families.
In a statement, Shafiqur Rahman said, ‘Today, January 16, around 8:00 am, the families of Fazle Rabbi, Haris, Rahab, Afsana, Rodela Akhter and two and a half year old child Risaan died in a fire in a building on Road No. 18, Sector No. 11, Uttara of the capital. I am deeply saddened and condoled in this tragic incident.’
Amir of the Jamaat also said, ‘I am praying to Almighty Allah, may He accept all those killed as martyrs, widen their graves and give them Jannatul Ferdows. At the same time, he gave patience to the bereaved families in this difficult time.
Amir of Jamaat said, ‘We wish speedy recovery to those injured in this accident and those undergoing treatment in the hospital. Besides, I am calling on the concerned authorities to investigate the real cause of the fire and take effective measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
Shafiqur Rahman said, “I specifically call upon the local branch organization of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to stand by the side of the affected families and provide all possible humanitarian aid-cooperation.”
It is to be noted that six people have been killed in a fire in a house in the capital’s Uttara this morning. At least 13 people injured in this incident are receiving treatment at the hospital.
