Israel on Wednesday targeted the international airport of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Apart from this, air strikes were also carried out in different parts of Beirut and Bekaa Valley. More than 40 people have died in these attacks while more than 50 are injured.
According to news agency PTI, before the attack, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) had asked to evacuate the airport and its surrounding areas. The IDF claimed to have targeted Hezbollah's command center and weapons depot during the attack in Beirut.
Earlier on Tuesday late night also, Israel had carried out an airstrike on an apartment building in Barja city of Lebanon. About 30 people were killed in this. The IDF did not even give any warning before the attack.
On the other hand, in Gaza also the Israeli army has reached Beit Lahiya. Till now the IDF was only bombing there. According to Israel, Hamas terrorists have once again started gathering in this area.
The building was reduced to debris after the Israeli attack in Beirut.
More than 3 thousand died in Lebanon
More than 3 thousand Lebanese citizens have been killed in the last one year due to Israeli attacks. Most of them have been killed in the Israel-Lebanon war that has been going on for the last 6 weeks. Due to the war, more than 1 million people of Lebanon have had to leave their homes.
Most of the people are taking shelter in relief camps. Now there is no space left in these camps also. Therefore, people have been temporarily accommodated by setting up tents on the sea shore.
On the other hand, Hezbollah Chief Naeem Qasim on Wednesday expressed his desire to negotiate ceasefire with Israel. He has asked to stop Israeli attacks before talks.
Local people and many human rights organizations are delivering food packets, medicines and essential items to the refugee camps of Beirut.
Due to lack of space in permanent shelter homes in Beirut, temporary refugee camps have been built on the seashore.
Naeem Qasim is Israel's target
Last week, Israel had also warned the new Hezbollah Chief Naeem Qasim. Israel had said that if Qasim also followed the path of his old leaders, his condition would be like the others. Qasim left Beirut on 5 October and flew to Iran on the Iranian Foreign Minister's plane.
Israel says that peace will come in Lebanon only when Hezbollah's military power is eliminated. There is only one solution to Lebanon's problem, and that is to abolish this organization completely.
Israel has also achieved success in the campaign to eliminate Hezbollah. Israel has eliminated 5 out of the top 8 leaders of the organization. Before Qasim, Hashim Saifidin's name was leading in the race to become Chief. Hashim was Nasrallah's cousin, but he was also killed in an Israeli airstrike.
