After 26 years, Israeli troops once again set foot in the strategic Beaufort Castle in the fight against the Hezbollah militia. The Israeli army announced this Sunday the capture of the medieval fortress in southern Lebanon – and north of the line marked by the Litani River – as part of efforts to annul the pro-Iranian group in the northern border region with Israel. The castle has great military (and historical) value as it stands 710 meters high and offers panoramic views as a guard post. In parallel, Israeli troops have also carried out a new air offensive on Tirethe largest southern city in the country, with about 200,000 residents. The bombings have affected the surroundings of the Hiram Hospital, where 13 doctors have been injured. It is reported by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, which registers 41 fatalities during the last 24 hours.
