Planning advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud said that there are opportunities for corruption and irregularities at various stages of the project, various steps are being taken to prevent all corruption and irregularities.
The adviser said this at the end of the meeting on identifying the limitations and determining what to do in the application of the regulations of 'PPA-2006' and 'PPR-2008' in the procurement process today.
The planning consultant said, 'There is corruption at many levels at the project stage. First, the way projects are built, there are many exceptions to the rule. More importantly, when the projects are approved, there are many loopholes in the procurement policy through which contractors are hired after approval. It can be seen that the same organization is getting those projects again and again. Some policies and regulations are responsible for why it is getting.
Wahiduddin Mahmud said, 'It is one thing to go as far as possible so that there is less chance of corruption during the planning of the projects. Another thing is that after the project is passed, when the implementation is given to the contractor, the most irregularities occur. The cost of sanctioned projects keeps increasing. Costs keep increasing, time increases. how to reduce them and how to streamline the hiring of contractors; So that corruption can be reduced in it.'
The planning consultant said that there is no such thing as best rules in the tender system, 'They are done in different ways in different countries of the world. There is no rule, which is best. But what we have seen so far for the benefit of our country, there has been a discussion about what steps can be taken to reduce the corruption that has happened there.'
