Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzade said Tehran would respond to the United States or Israel. Nasirzad made such warnings on Iran's state television on Sunday (May 7th). British news agency Reuters reported.
Nasirzad said, “If this war begins in the United States or Israel, Iran will attack their interests, bases and forces – it will be wherever and whenever they need.”
The Iran-backed Houthi group fired missiles at Israel's chief airport Ben Gurian on Sunday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to strive against Iran after the incident. In a post on social media X, Netanyahu said, “Iran is the source of the Houthi attack. Israel will respond to the Houthis attack on our main airport and their Iranian terrorist confidence will also be answered in the right time and place. '
After the threat of Netanyahu, Nasirjad's comment came.
Nasirzad reiterated Iran's official publicity position, saying that the Houthis work on their own decisions.
“There is no enmity with the neighboring countries of Iran,” Nasirzad added. However, the attack on Iran will be targeted by US bases in the region.
Iran-backed Houthis say they are attacking the Palestinians in Gaza.
Iran-close Houthis are launching missiles and drones towards Israel in support of Hamas fighters. The United States has been conducting airstrikes on Houthi's base in Yemen since March 7. US President Donald Trump also says Iran will be blamed for any Houthis attack.
