Nahid Islam said, 'July-August mass uprising was created through students. The interim government is working on the matter so that no one else in Bangladesh can stop the internet and undermine people's right to access information.
The information adviser said, 'In the name of digitalisation, the previous fascist government committed massive irregularities and corruption, as a result of which people did not get the desired benefits. In that case, a kind of digital discrimination has been created, we want to eliminate it. People of Bangladesh need digital literacy. The interim government is working for the necessary training and public awareness.
At a time when people are eager for information, if they don't get the right information, wrong and misleading information can spread, says Jenny K. Lincoln. When asked by the representative of The Carter Center about how to disseminate various information nationwide, the advisor said, 'public relations officers in each ministry are responsible for disseminating information nationwide, who are officers of the Ministry of Information. This program of nationwide information dissemination is also monitored from the office of the chief adviser.
The adviser said that all the commissions that have already been formed for the reform are collecting public opinions by launching their own websites. The advisor urged the delegation to provide any views of The Carter Center on these issues.
