BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has commented that 'India is watching a nightmare' to put the people of Bangladesh in trouble. He said, “You (India) think that if you stop onion, the people of Bangladesh will not be able to use onion in curries anymore… If you stop ginger, garlic, soybean oil, we will not be able to use them in curries anymore.”
The Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP made this comment in an event in Gulshan on Friday (December 6), severely criticizing India's current position on Bangladesh.
The event was held on the occasion of the sale of local products at the mobile sales center 'Deshi Madho Kine Ho Dhanya' near Gulshan No. 2 Goal Chatwar. Later, Rizvi inaugurated the sale of various clothes including sarees at cheap prices.
“No. You (India) are having a nightmare that we will deprive them of water, rice and curry. You have stopped exporting animals, especially cows. The people of Bangladesh set up cattle and goat farms in their village homes and slaughtered 1 crore 2 million cattle in one Eid al-Adha… providing for the meat requirement every year.”
Rizvi said, “You must not forget that the people of Bangladesh are very hard-working, hard-working… They do not hesitate to produce and over-produce the onion, garlic, ginger that we import.”
“You think you produce everything only… there is no other country in the world from whom we can import onions… from whom we can import garlic-oil… from whom we can import palm oil, soybean oil… all that. What is the country? There are all those countries. You think that if they are stopped, the condition of the people of Bangladesh will become worse… This is your nightmare.”
He said, “Rather, the situation has become known to you. Not a single shop in Calcutta Newmarket is open… Your markets are about to close… Your hotels in Calcutta are closed.”
“Because the people of Bangladesh used to go to Calcutta, go to India and spend dollars and shop there, they used to get treatment there. Your hospital will no longer function.”
Rizvi said, “By stopping these things, you think that the people of Bangladesh have become restless. No… Bangladeshi people are happy now. We say, we have many medical colleges, many hospitals… what are you bragging about? Now people of Bangladesh can go to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia or other countries if needed.”
People of Bangladesh don't want to go to those countries who hate us. Because freedom is bought with blood-price. You will make this nation bow down by depriving it, fearing it — that nation is not Bangladesh.”
Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Ujjal of BNP, Amlendu Das Apu, Jahidul Kabir of Volunteers Party, Tauhidur Rahman Awal of Chhatra Dal and others were present in the event.
