Google is bringing a new weather forecast model of artificial intelligence or AI. Google said that the work of making this powerful model is in progress. This model is more effective than various weather forecasting systems. Google's DeepMind team unveiled a full-fledged AI model for weather forecasting this week. The new model is named Zencast.
DeepMind researchers detailed the new model in a paper published in the journal Nature Science. Gencast is more robust than the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecast's ENS system, DeepMind scientists claim. ENS is one of the most powerful weather forecasting systems in the world.
The DeepMind team explained the technology behind the new model in a blog post. Conventional weather models provide unitary and hypothetical information about future weather. Gencast works with aggregates of fifty or more predictors. Visualizing possible weather scenarios can provide useful information. Analyzing the data collected from various sources can provide an almost accurate interpretation of what the future weather conditions will be like. Gencast has been trained on various weather data up to 2018. In a later comparison of weather forecasts in 2019, Gencast was 97.2 percent accurate.
Google is including this service in Google Search and Maps. Gencast provides real-time data and historical forecasts.
