A blanket of fog is being seen in many parts of the country in the morning. The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of light to dense fog in the morning in many areas of the country including Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and Punjab. However, there will be no major change in temperature.

Disruption in Walker circulation and lack of effect of cyclonic circulation in North and Central India are responsible for the heat in the second week of November. The Walker Circulation is seen at the surface as easterly trade winds that carry sun-warmed water and air westward. The post-monsoon rains have also been affected by this imbalance in weather patterns.

Minimum temperature will drop by 2 to 4 degrees in 5 days

The Meteorological Department has said that there has been no major change in the minimum temperature across the country. The minimum temperature in Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, UP, Bihar, Rajasthan remains 3-5 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature in the western Himalayan regions may fall by 2-4 degrees in the next 5 days. There has been a slight drop in the maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR in the last 24 hours.

Why do I feel hot in the cold?

Weather experts say that since the effect of Western Disturbance (which causes sudden rain, snowfall and fog in North-West India) is less this time and there are no rain clouds, hence the sun rays are reaching the earth with more intensity. Dense pollution is also preventing cold winds from coming down. For this reason the temperature is not falling even at night. The feeling of heat in winter is not only in Delhi-NCR but also in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal, entire North and Central India.
