Regional Maths Festival was held in Kushtia yesterday amid winter in Konkan. At around 9:30 am, the festival started with the hoisting of the national flag, the flag of Bangladesh Mathematics Olympiad and the flag of International Mathematics Olympiad along with the national anthem. Kushtia Additional Deputy Commissioner (General and Education) Mizanur Rahman hoisted the national flag, ASM Musa Kabir, doctor of the medicine department of Kushtia Medical College Hospital, hoisted the International Mathematics Olympiad flag.
Addressing the students in the inaugural session, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mizanur Rahman said that the more advanced the nation is in mathematics and science, the more advanced the nation is. Mathematics is the language of science, the language of logic. There is no alternative to mathematics for progress and development of the nation.
Dutch-Bangla Bank's Kushtia Branch Manager Shahinur Rahman, Kushtia Television Journalist Association President Anisuzzaman and Prothom Alo Kushtia's own correspondent Touhidi Hasan were present at the opening. Prothom Alo Kushtia Bandhu Sabha cooperated in the organization.
