With the increase in demand, the import of electricity from India has increased. Now in Bangladesh, 5.7 percent of the total electricity produced in Bangladesh is coming from India. This production has increased in India-Bangladesh tension.
In recent times, there was a lot of tension with India with electricity bills. India's media also reported that Bangladesh could not pay electricity bills. Especially Adani reduces the production of their Jharkhand power plant by half. However, the government took initiative to pay the bill.
Asked about bringing electricity from India, PDB member (production) Zahurul Islam told the Bangla Tribune, “April and May are a major challenge for us at this time because of the summer and irrigation season. From all possible places we try to increase power generation. The reason for the increase in electricity supply from India is the same. Power supply has increased due to the increase in demand. '
He also said, 'Bringing electricity from India depends on the agreement. We do not consider anything else. If we need as much electricity as we need in the agreement, we will want it. Beyond that, there are plans to increase production of several centers. '
The website of the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) showed that Adani's 5 MW from India, Veramara HDVC 1 MW and 12 MW of power came to Bangladesh through Tripura on Monday (April 7).
However, the amount of electricity increases during the maximum demand at night. On this day, there was a power of 3 to 5 MW from Adani in the evening. The HVDC substation has come with 5 MW. In addition, the amount of electricity from Tripura also increased by 2 to 5 MW.
The total power imports from India are currently 20 MW. On the contrary, electricity is coming to 2222 MW. The electricity that is now coming is the highest in history.
India's HVDC substation has the capacity to get 5 MW of electricity daily, but there is no more than 5 MW of electricity. For this reason, the government has signed an agreement to bring 5 MW of electricity from Nepal through this line.
The highest demand in the summer is 1 to 5 thousand 5 MW. But now there is a production of 5,700 MW of electricity. However, it is a matter of seeing how much electricity suffer is in the summer.
Although the temperature is still very tolerable, the full -fledged cooling machine is not running. Demand has not increased in full swing, especially as the homeless air control device is not operated.
Generally, the demand for electricity is high from mid -April to June. As a result, the demand will increase if the temperature rises after seven to seven days. However, the demand may decrease if it rains. In that case the suffering of electricity will not increase very much.
