Durga Puja in West Bengal is shadowed by the RG Kar hospital case


Durga Puja Mandapams are usually made with different themes. This time, the design of the mandap shows the impression of RG tax.

Security has been beefed up across the state to ensure smooth puja celebrations. 10,000 policemen are on duty in the city of Kolkata during the Puja. Apart from this, security surveillance will continue with the help of drones.

'Winners' and 'Shakti' teams have been appointed from Lalbazar police headquarters to protect women. Apart from this, 58 'watch towers' have been installed across the city.

Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Verma said that all arrangements have been made to complete the puja peacefully across the city.
