“Don't be too quick to make a hero, don't be too quick to make a villain.”

In international cricket, many players of Bangladesh have a great start but cannot keep up with the times. As successful cricketers are praised, failures are criticized. According to Mohammad Salahuddin, senior assistant coach of Bangladesh, it is not right to judge someone quickly.

Salahuddin has only been in charge of BCB for a week as an assistant coach. Since taking charge, he has been practicing regularly with potential cricketers for the Test team for the West Indies tour indoors. Even today he has worked separately with Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Sadman Islam, Muminul Haque, and Taijul Islam. Salahuddin said while talking to reporters after the practice, 'You don't make anyone a hero quickly. Don't be too quick to villainize anyone. Every player makes it to the team after a lot of hard work and struggle. Many take a while to establish themselves at the international level. Some have success in the beginning. Then the media quickly made them heroes. But everyone's time and circumstances are not the same.'

Bangladesh's batting failure has become quite evident in recent times. Especially the top order batsmen are not able to stand in front of the opposition bowlers. Salahuddin also did not find a definite solution to this problem. The senior assistant coach of Bangladesh said, 'The reason for their failure is not completely clear to me. To me they are all very talented. I haven't started working with them directly yet, but from what I've seen, I think it's more important to move towards solutions than to find problems.'

Salahuddin joined the coaching setup of Bangladesh national team after 14 years. How does it feel to return to BCB after a long time? Salahuddin said, 'I don't really have any special feelings. This is my profession. Whatever jersey I am in, I try to give 110. Committed to give the best as a professional coach. As long as I work, I will not fail to try.'
