The public notice also said that ambulances use horns or hooters even when there are no patients on board and vehicles of emergency services are driving for non-emergency purposes. They are specially requested not to blow horn or hooter unnecessarily and in prohibited areas. Apart from this, pedestrians have been requested to use pedestrian-bridges and zebra crossings to avoid road accidents.
Legal action will be taken through regular raids and mobile courts if any motorist or pedestrian fails to comply with the above-mentioned points, the public notice said. Dhaka Metropolitan Police is seeking the cooperation of all concerned in this regard.
