Dissatisfaction over the nomination of UK BNP president MA Malik in Sylhet-3 seat is spreading on social media. Sylhet district BNP president Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury and central BNP international affairs secretary MA Salam were candidates for the seat.
District BNP convener Syed Modarresh Ali raised the demand of reconsideration of nomination in Faridpur-3 seat. Clashes also took place in Faridpur-1 Constituency due to counter marches. Candidates for this seat have not been announced yet.
In Rajbari-1, Magura-2, Satkhira-2 and Satkhira-3 constituencies, there is dissatisfaction of the party with the declared candidate, there is anger and protest.
After the announcement of nominations in four of the seven constituencies in Tangail, some of the leaders and activists expressed their dissatisfaction. In these three constituencies Tangail-1, 2 and 8- protest-meetings, blockade of highways and even announcement of independent candidates have come.
Important sections of the district BNP are carrying out various programs including highway blockade, women’s rally, torch march against the candidates nominated in the three constituencies of Kushtia (Kushtia-2, 3 and 4). In Kushtia-4 (Kumarkhali-Khoksa) Constituency, Mehdi Ahmed Rumi, District BNP Joint Convenor Md. 16 leaders of local BNP and affiliated organizations have applied to nominate Sheikh Sadi.
Several top leaders including BNP’s co-organizing secretary have submitted a written application to the Acting Chairman demanding cancellation of Shamim Kaiser’s nomination for Gaibandha-4 seat.
A sharp division has been created in several constituencies in Rajshahi and Pabna around the nomination. There have been protests and blockades in four of the six constituencies of Rajshahi. Same situation Pabna-3, Pabna-4; Jaipurhat-1, Jaipurhat-2 and Naogaon in all five constituencies declared.
