Arab Finance: President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi received, in El Alamein, Alexei Lekhhatov, General Manager of the company Redsum Russian nuclear energy, within the framework of enhancing Egyptian -Russian cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.
The meeting was attended by the Russian side, Dr. Andre Petrov, President of the company “Atom Stro Axport”, Ambassador Georgy Borissinko, the Russian Federation Ambassador in Cairo, and from the Egyptian side, Eng. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Dr. Sherif Helmy, Chairman of the Nuclear Stations Authority for Electricity Generation.
The meeting comes in the context of the visit of the Director General of “Rosatom” to Egypt, which witnessed the signing of a government supplementary agreement between Egypt and Russia regarding the project of establishing the Dabaa nuclear plant, which includes the physical protection arrangements for the station. An supplementary contract was also signed between the company “Atom Stro Axport” and the Egyptian Nuclear Stations Authority, dealing with design details, purchases, and construction work for the project.
Ambassador Mohamed El -Shennawi, the official spokesman, explained that the meeting dealt with the developments of work in the Dabaa nuclear plant, which is devoted to peaceful purposes, as well as reviewing the technical and executive aspects related to the project, which represents one of the major strategic projects of the state in the field of renewable energy.
