Arab Finance: Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting; To review a proposed project to produce hydrogen andGreen Ammonia In the Gulf of Suez, in the presence of the team, Eng. Kamel Al -Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, Engineer Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Engineer Hassan Al -Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
The Prime Minister started the meeting, by referring to the great importance of green fuel production projects in Egypt, in line with the implementation of the Egyptian energy sector strategy, which aims to enhance the capabilities of the state in the field of using new and renewable energy sources, and reducing carbon emissions, by reducing dependence on traditional energy sources.
Dr. Mustafa Madbouly said: The project that we are dealing with today is targeting deepening local production from the green ammonia, and is in line with the efforts made by the state to turn Egypt into a green hydrogen center, especially in light of the many incentives and benefits that the state has succeeded in providing, and the enormous capabilities of electricity generated from renewable energy sources completely empty of any carbon emissions, which puts us on the road Correct to reach the levels of carbon neutrality, which contributes to attracting more investments for this promising sector.
Counselor Mohamed Al -Homsani, spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the meeting dealt with a number of axes related to the Green Ammonia production project in the coast of the Gulf of Suez, (the Green Fuel Alliance) in cooperation between the ministries of transport and electricity, including the general plan of the project and the optimal productive energy proposed for this project.
The spokesperson added: During the meeting, the implementation of this project comes according to the global trend to reduce carbon emissions, and in line with Egypt's strategy to produce green hydrogen and green ammonia at a competitive cost of use as an alternative fuel, and a number of goals that the state seeks to achieve from this project, which is to provide the project production locally as green fuel for the transit ships of the Suez Canal, and the Suez Canal, And its export to global markets; This is to enable Egypt to be a regional center for energy circulation, especially in the presence of intense competition in this field, and the project includes three similar stages of implementation.
