The latter declared during the trial that she had developed an addiction to YouTube at the age of 6, then secretly registered on Instagram at the age of 9, evading her mother’s parental control. According to her, this use reinforced her depressive state, her suicidal thoughts and her appearance disorders. “Every time I tried to set limits for myself, it didn’t work, and I just couldn’t let go”she told the court, according to comments reported by CBS. The child spent up to sixteen hours a day on Instagram: “I felt the need to be there all the time, and if I wasn’t there, I felt like I was missing out on something. »
