New Delhi. Adani Group announced a donation of Rs 2,000 crore for the construction of at least 20 schools across the country. At the time of marriage of the younger son of the group's founder Gautam Adani, the group announced to spend Rs 10,000 crore on charity works. The group had earlier announced Rs 6,000 crore for the construction of hospitals and Rs 2,000 crore for skill development. The Paramarth unit of Gautam Adani led by Adaani Foundation, “has tied up with a global leading James Education in private K-12 education to establish temples of education across the country.”
The Foundation said in a statement, “Partnership with an initial contribution of Rs 2,000 crore from the Adani family will prioritize to make world -class education and learning infrastructure affordable for people of all sections of the society.” Adani had committed to spend Rs 10,000 crore on social work at the time of her younger son Jeet's wedding. Adani Foundation currently works in 6,769 villages in 19 states.
