One of the intelligence officials killed in a gunman attack on tourists on Tuesday in India -controlled Jammu -Kashmir.
According to NDTV report, the deceased was Manish Ranjan, a resident of Bihar and an official of the Hyderabad Intelligence Bureau (IB). He was shot in front of his wife and children.
The IB officer traveled to Kashmir with the family under the Live Travel Consolation (LTC). Along with many other tourists, they were in the Bisran Valley of Pahelgam (known as 'Mini Switzerland'). At that time, the armed men attacked them.
Manish Ranjan was working in the Ministrial Department of the IB Hyderabad office.
At least 20 people were killed in a gun attack in Pahelgam yesterday. Numerous more were injured in the attack. Pahelgam, the beautiful city of the Himalayas, is known as 'Mini Switzerland'. Army helicopters have been sent to rescue the injured in the attack. This is because it is possible to just walk or ride in this area.
The incident happened at a time when the tourist season was underway in the valley and registration for Amarnath Yatra has begun in different parts of the country. The pilgrimage will begin on July 7 on the two routes. One of these routes is the 5 km long hillgam route and the relatively small and steep 5 km of Boltal route.
