Asif Nazrul, Adviser on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the Interim Government said that the President is lying about this. Protests have been held in many places demanding his resignation. A step ahead, Hasnat called the president a 'friend' of the Awami League and demanded his resignation. Addressing the President, Hasnat said, 'There is still time. Leave the luxury of Bangabhavan and find your own way.'
In the meantime, the President has clarified his statement on this controversy. He called on Hasina's resignation to be 'settled' and refrain from destabilizing or embarrassing the interim government by creating any fresh controversy over it. This was informed in a press release signed by Shiplu Zaman, Deputy Press Secretary of the Office of the President on Monday. It is said that the 'propaganda' carried out in various media by quoting the President on the issue of Hasina's resignation has created confusion in the public mind.
The question raised in people's minds about Hasina's resignation and emigration, dissolution of Parliament and the constitutional validity of the interim government is 'reflected in the order of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court dated 8th August in Special Reference No-01/2024'. Along with this, it is said in the notification, “According to Article 106 of the Constitution, the President has given this opinion after seeking the opinion of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on August 8”. The President appealed to everyone not to create any new controversy on this settled issue
