Dhaka-12 Constituency (Jamaat) MP Saiful Alam Khan Milon commented on the release of BNP MP’s son arrested on charges of extortion. He said, the son of a member of Parliament was arrested for extortion. I thought wow, good sense must have arisen, otherwise why the arrest? But the next day, I saw that he was released on bond. Those who do extortion all over the country will say – do extortion. The only punishment for this is to pay a bond. If you give a bond, you will be released.
Saiful Alam Khan Milon said these things in the general discussion of the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 in the Jatiya Sangsad on Saturday.
It is to be noted that the police arrested Khairul Islam Sajib, son of Azharul Islam Mannan, Member of Parliament of Narayanganj-3 Constituency on June 21, on charges of extortion. He was released on bail the next day. However, Saiful Alam Khan Milan did not mention the name of any member of Parliament while saying these things.
Regarding extortion in the constituency, Saiful Alam said, “Extortion in the Farmgate-Karwan Bazar industrial area was done by the government party before, and is still being done by the government party. It is the responsibility of the Home Minister to catch extortionists. Extortionists are not members of any party, they will be wronged if they are owned. Let the extortionists be caught.’
He said, ‘A new sector of moneylenders has been launched. Battery powered rickshaws in industrial areas are charged by pulling a line directly from the road. A subscription is charged for this. It is done by the people of the government party.’
Saiful Alam Milan said, ‘I think Bank Resolution Act-2026 should be cancelled. Earlier our finance minister said the window has been left open. S Alam is entering through the window, we did not understand it.’
Member of Parliament Saiful Alam Khan Milon said, ‘The Home Minister is highly qualified. He had said earlier that he had received the reception in S Alam’s car, it was not correct. But he did not say that BNP people were expelled while protecting S Alam’s expensive cars in Chittagong. The Home Minister again said that a group occupied Islami Bank saying Allahu Akbar. I understand that Allahu Akbar has a lot of objections. But he did not say anything about the youth leader of another group who went to occupy the bank with weapons, the pictorial report of which was printed in the newspaper. What can I say to that, he has objections to Allahu Akbar but no objections to weapons.’
11,000 crores have been given to Jamaat-e-Islam’s election fund from Islami Bank’s RDS project—Saiful Alam Milan presented the bank’s financial statements for 2025 regarding such a suggestive statement by the Home Minister. He said, ‘I think the Home Minister said that it was given to us to pass the electoral process. Perhaps the Home Minister said this from his and his party’s electoral budget. He said thinking about the budget. Another thing the Home Minister said is that it will be audited. I knew for so long that he performed the duties of Home Minister and spoke for the Prime Minister, Law Minister, Religion Minister. Now I see that he has a hand in the audit. I will wait when he will do the audit. The bank is in their hands. Let it be presented here.’
