A few days later, the National Assembly election, and the political parties and candidates are busy campaigning ahead of this election. According to the information of the Election Commission, there is the highest voter turnout in this election for the first time in the history of the country.
Recently, Election Commission or EC has published the constituency wise voter list across the country.
It has been seen that 12 crore 77 lakh 11 thousand votes can be cast in the parliamentary election and referendum on 12th February.
Among them, 6 crore 48 lakh 25 thousand are male, 6 crore 28 lakh 85 thousand are female voters and 1 thousand 120 are transgender voters.
This is the first time that expatriate voters in different countries of the world can vote in the upcoming national parliament elections.
Out of these quarter of 13 million voters, 772,000 voters have completed their registration for postal voting in the upcoming elections and the Election Commission has also sent ballots to them.
The Election Commission has released the constituency wise voter list, showing that Gazipur has the highest number of voters and Jhalkathi the lowest.
Along with the final voter list, the Election Commission has also announced the final candidate list for the withdrawal of candidature. It has been seen that 1 thousand 981 candidates will fight in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Senior Secretary of Election Commission Akhtar Ahmed said that most candidates are contesting in Dhaka-12 seat in the 13th National Assembly elections. And the least number of candidates are in Pirojpur-1 constituency.
However, after the cancellation of the candidacy, some continue to fight to get it back in the high court. The number of candidates this time may increase if the court verdict returns the candidature.

Gazipur has the highest number of voters
On Thursday, the Election Commission released the constituency-wise voter list ahead of this year’s election. In this election, for the first time, the number of voters has reached 13 crores.
Analyzing the voting data of the whole country, it has been found that the number of voters is relatively high in Dhaka and Gazipur.
Analyzing the constituency-wise voter data across the country, it is seen that Gazipur-2 constituency has the highest number of voters among the 300 parliamentary constituencies across the country.
There are 8 lakh 4 thousand 333 voters in this constituency. Among them, four lakh 402 male and four lakh three thousand 918 female voters. And there are 13 Hijra voters.
It is followed by the second highest voter turnout in Dhaka-19 constituency comprising Savar-Ashulia region. The number of voters in this constituency is seven lakh 47 thousand 70 people. The number of male voters is more than female voters in this seat.
In Dhaka 19 constituencies there are three lakh 67 thousand female voters against three lakh 79 thousand 906 male voters. There are 13 Hijra voters in this seat too.
The third highest voter turnout is in Gazipur-1 constituency, seven lakh 20 thousand 939 voters. Among them 360 thousand 234 men, 360 thousand 693 women and 12 are Hijra voters.
Apart from the two constituencies of Gazipur, there are more than seven lakh voters in Noakhali-4 constituencies. And there are more than six lakh voters in seven constituencies. They are Mymensingh-4, Sylhet-1, Comilla-6, Brahmanbaria-3, Dhaka-18, Jessore-3 and Kurigram-2 constituencies.
There are 52 constituencies with more than five lakh voters. There are 113 constituencies with more than four lakh voters, and 104 constituencies with more than three lakh voters.

The number of voters is less in Jhalakathi
While the number of voters in Dhaka-Gazipur region is high, on the contrary, the number of voters is low in the southern district of Jhalkathi.
According to the analysis of voter information provided by the Election Commission, there are 228 thousand 431 voters in Jhalkathi-1 Constituency consisting of Rajapur and Kanthalia upazilas.
Jessore-6 seat is in the second position in terms of less voters. In this constituency, there are 1 lakh 15 thousand male voters, 1 lakh 13 thousand female voters and two transgender voters.
In terms of number of voters, Pirojpur-3 seat is number three. There are 241,000 voters in this constituency. Among them, 1 lakh 22 thousand male voters, 1 lakh 19 thousand female voters and one Hijra voter.
The number of voters in the divisional city of Khulna-3 seats is relatively less. The total number of voters in this seat is two lakh 54 thousand. Among them, 1 lakh 27 thousand male voters, 1 lakh 26 thousand female voters, and 8 hijra voters.
Chittagong-3 seats in the fifth position. Out of total 260 thousand voters in this constituency, 1 lakh 34 thousand are male voters, 1 lakh 25 thousand are female voters and 2 are transgender voters.
There are less than three lakh voters in Dhaka-8, the most discussed seat of Dhaka. Out of total 275 thousand voters in this constituency, 1 lakh 52 thousand male voters, 1 lakh 22 thousand female voters and one transgender voter.
Also in Meherpur-2, Bagerhat-3, Brahmanbaria-1, Lakshmipur-1 constituencies the number of voters is low in the list. The number of voters in these constituencies is below three lakh.
According to the Election Commission, the initial work of printing ballot papers and setting up polling stations is progressing rapidly according to the number of voters in each constituency. Since voters will have to vote on two different issues this time, taking and counting votes may require extra care and extra time.

Candidates in which seat is less, which one is more?
Out of 60 political parties registered in this year’s parliamentary elections, 51 parties have fielded candidates. According to the information of the Election Commission, more than 2500 candidates initially submitted their nomination papers in this election.
After the selection process and EC’s appeal settlement, symbols were allocated among the final candidates last Tuesday.
Candidate analysis showed that out of 1,981 candidates, 249 independent candidates, 76 women candidates. BNP has fielded the most candidates among the political parties. Their number of candidates is 288.
Nine registered political parties did not field any candidates. The parties are Bangladesh Samyavadi Dal (ML), Krishak Sramik Janata League, Bangladesh National Awami Party, Workers Party of Bangladesh, Jasdar Ekshan, Alternative Bangladesh, Bangladesh Tarikat Federation, Trinamool BNP, Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Andolan-BNM.
After allotment of symbols, the Election Commission released the list of candidates and said that the most number of candidates in this election are in Dhaka-12 constituencies consisting of Tejgaon-Farmgate area. And the most candidates are in Pirojpur-1 seat.
In a press conference on Thursday, EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said that in the 13th National Assembly elections, Dhaka-12 seats have the most candidates among all the seats in the country, 15 people are contesting there.
And the lowest Pirojpur-1 seat has only two candidates. One of them belongs to BNP and one belongs to Jamaat-e-Islami.
Scrutiny by the Returning Officer and appeals by the EC disallowed the candidature of many candidates. The nomination of some of their candidates may come back again in the appeal of the High Court.
The Election Commission says that the number of candidates may increase if the candidates are returned in the appeal.
