Barrister Rumin Farhana, an independent candidate in Brahmanbaria-2 seat, said that he has nothing to fear in this field. He said, ‘You have seen how after last August 5, I spoke against extortion, business cases, cases of non-payment of money in all parts of Bangladesh when I was in the Rumin Farhana team. I don’t like this truth.’
Rumin Farhana said these things during the election mass communication in Aruail and Pakshimul Union of Sarail Upazila as an independent candidate on Monday evening.
Rumin Farhana said, ‘If you are in the opposition party, the truth is sweet and if you are in the government, the truth is bitter. My job is to tell the truth, I will tell the truth. A year ago, I talked about extortion and litigation, sand business, soil filling, shop occupation, then I was told – it should not be said like this.’
At that time, Rumin Farhana said to the workers and people who were with him, ‘Whatever my marka is, are you there? Then I trust in Allah, Rumin Farhana has nothing to fear in this land. The next election will be for truth, for courage.’
The former BNP leader said to the local people, ‘The plight of the roads of Sarail-Ashuganj is unimaginable. I will change the face of this area.’
Barrister Rumin Farhana was the party candidate of BNP in Brahmanbaria-2 seat. Junaid Al Habib, vice president of Jamiat Ulamae Islam Bangladesh, has been nominated as the candidate of the BNP alliance in this seat. Rumin Farhana is standing as an independent candidate without getting nomination. Last Friday (January 2), Brahmanbaria Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer declared Rumin Farhana’s candidacy valid after saving the nomination for the Thirteenth National Assembly Election. BNP expelled Rumin Farhana on December 30 as an independent candidate who disobeyed the party decision.
