Arab Finance: The Miss Energy platform announced that the Italian company Eni intends to pump investments exceeding one billion dollars to enhance the production of the back field, the largest gas field in Egypt, whose production fell to 1.5 billion cubic feet per day, or less than half of its maximum capacity.
Investments aim to add a trillion new cube to the confirmed reserve, and link the discoveries of the Italian company Eni in Cyprus to the Egyptian infrastructure, and the company said that the agreements of liquefy and marketing Cypriot gas in Egypt are historically and enhance the value of its assets.
The company revealed that Egypt was among the markets that led the company's exploration activity in the first quarter of this year, while the company's future projects include the second phase of the Maliha project as well as the Narges field, and the expansion of the back field in the statement of its business.
Also, the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum said that the initial estimates of the third stage of the Dahr Field Development Project will add about a trillion cubic feet of gas to the field reserves, and the ministry explained that the third stage includes the use of a floating treatment unit in the marine wells area 220 km from the beach, to separate gas and condensate, in preparation for its entry into the production map by 2028.
She stated that two wells were being drilled in a field of appearance during the 2026 plan, and said that as they enter into operation, they added 300 million cubic feet per day.
