In the grenade attack case discussed on August 28, the arrest warrant issued against BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has been withdrawn. Today (February 7th), the judge of the Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1. Rafiqul Islam was self -motivated and ordered the withdrawal of the warrant.
Tareq Rahman was ordered to withdraw the case from the High Court to withdraw the case, tribunal sources said.
The High Court acquitted all the accused, including Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the BNP and former Home Minister Lutfuzzaman Babar, who was sentenced to life imprisonment on December 5.
In the verdict, the High Court said that the lower court on the basis of the chargesheet was not legally acceptable. That is why all the accused were released.
It is to be noted that on October 7, the grenade attack and murder case on August 27, former Home Minister Lutfuzzaman Babar, former Deputy Minister Abdus Salam Pintu and BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, Khaleda Zia, and Khaleda Zia, Kazi Jawa, and BNP. The judicial court sentenced life imprisonment.
On November 27 of that year, the judgment of the judicial court arrived at the Death Reference Branch of the High Court along with the necessary documents. A grenade attack was carried out at the Awami League rally on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on the afternoon of August 27. The attack killed 20 people including Awami League women's affairs secretary Ivy Rahman. Sheikh Hasina and several hundred Awami League leaders and activists were injured.
