BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir believes that political training should be given to leaders and workers in every district. He emphasized on the need to give ideas to leaders and workers especially about slogans, speeches, conducting meetings etc.
Mirza Fakhrul said these things at the membership renewal ceremony of BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan on Monday.
Mirza Fakhrul said, 'Previously we have done membership and renewal program. This is an ongoing process. We think membership should be renewed after some time. This is why we are renewing the membership according to the instructions given by our acting chairman Tariq Rahman. This work is basically office work. My experience in this regard is – the books will go to each district upazila- police station- union and ward. Our organizing editors will confirm this. If this work is done, we will reach the grassroots within a month. If our existing members do not know that the membership is being renewed, it will not happen.'
He said, 'I have an opinion on this matter which you will not like to hear. What happened earlier, our interested MP candidates bought all of them. It should not be. It should go in an organizational way.'
BNP Secretary General said, 'We need a lot of training. We and our leaders and workers know why we are moving away from politics. Yesterday was the birth anniversary of our party founder Ziaur Rahman. There were activists coming, they were marching with a flag, it was not politics. Political training should be started in every district. How to give a speech, how to give slogans, how to conduct a meeting—these things must be known. Everyone's name has to be said during the meeting, it can't mean anything. It is nothing but a waste of time. Apart from these, it is necessary to make a political party in real sense. Lots of good words here, we need to be a real ideological political party. The competition that is coming up now is not a sloganeering competition; Competition of talent and intelligence should be given. There should be a competition on social media and talk shows who can speak well and refute arguments. These things should be kept in mind. It is not possible to win the front battle with just slogans.'
He advised to emphasize on merit and ethics while recruiting new members.
