Sheikh Hasina's son Sajib Wazed Joy has claimed that the allegations leveled against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family are completely baseless. “I am challenging the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to disclose and prove these so-called transactions – we are involved in these irregularities.”
He made such a challenge in a post given on the verified Facebook page on Tuesday (December 24).
Sajib Wazed wrote in a Facebook post, 'We have never been involved in any government project. I did not earn any money from the project. I have been living in USA for 30 years. My aunt and cousins have been living in the UK for about the same amount of time. Naturally we have bank accounts in these two countries. We do not have any off-shore accounts. We have never even approached the amount of money that is being demanded.'
Noting that it is not even possible to 'move' billions of dollars from a $10 billion project, he wrote, “Claims that we are 'involved' in the transaction is a false allegation.”
He also writes, 'The illegitimate Yunus government and its terrorist student coordinators are trying to divert public attention from the failure of governance, lack of rule of law, economic collapse, human rights violations, crisis of democracy and political repression.'
