Due to inflation, 7.8 million people have become poor again


Due to unbearable price inflation, 7.8 million people of Bangladesh have become poor. This information came out in the workshop titled Research and Policy Integration for Development (RAPID) Workshop with Journalists at Sirdap Auditorium in the capital on Sunday.

Dr. Rapid Chairman. MA Razzaq presented the research. Shafiqul Alam, press secretary of Antavati government, was virtually connected as the chief guest at the event.

Dr. M. Abu Yusuf, Executive Director of RAPID and Research Director Dr. Mohammad Deen Islam were present at this time.

Dr. Rapid Chairman. MA Razzak said that inflation has increased due to the policies, corruption and irregularities of the Awami League government. Hyperinflation is caused by excess money supply.

According to the study, 78 lakh 60 thousand people have come below the poverty line again. At the same time, 98 lakh 30 thousand people are at risk of extreme poverty. Apart from this, 3.8 million people have been reduced from poverty to poverty.
