Meta platform-owned Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp saw a major outage last Wednesday at midnight. The artificial intelligence or AI chatbot ChatGPTO has been troubling the users for hours. This problem was also seen in Sora, a tool for creating videos from OpenAI text with ChatGPT. Apart from Bangladesh, it is reported that there were problems in using these services in different countries.
However, ChatGPT started working normally again on Thursday at 9 AM Bangladeshi time.
'We are currently experiencing an outage,' says OpenAI on social media platform X. We have identified the issue and are working on a solution. Sorry and we'll keep you updated!'
Apart from personal work, many companies use OpenAI's services for their projects. They also faced this outage problem. Users expressed their frustration on various social media platforms. Many accounts are logging in slowly. And when someone enters the platform, they may see a message saying 'ChatGPT is currently not available'.
According to Downdetector, a website that publishes information about online service outages, Reuters reported that the problem started around 12:00 PM Bangladesh time on Wednesday. Meanwhile, users started sending complaints from different parts of the world. Among them, 57 percent complained about not being able to use Facebook through the app, 33 percent about accessing the website and 10 percent about not being able to see any posts.
The website also reported that more than 13,000 users worldwide reported having problems accessing Facebook. In addition, more than 6,600 people are facing problems while using Instagram. Metar service messenger is also seen to be out of order at this time.
At this time, the accounts logged in on desktop or mobile are automatically logged out. Couldn't login after that. Later, a message said, 'Facebook is down for required maintenance right now.' At around 1:15 AM Bangladesh time, metro services are gradually getting back to normal. However, the cause of this outage is not yet known.
