Taijul took 5 wickets at the cost of 50 runs in the second innings in consecutive controlled bowling. He tasted 5 wickets in an innings for the 15th time in his Test career. All in all, he has taken 6 wickets at the expense of 74 runs in this Test. At the award ceremony after the Jamaica Test, man of the match Taijul said, 'There is nothing to deny here. We have the pace bowling attack, the spin attack, we have been playing together for quite some time now. Everyone had a good experience. Inshallah we can compete with any team in the world.'
After 15 years, Bangladesh won the Test on West Indies soil. Describing the significance of the win, the left-arm spinner said, 'It's out of our condition (win). Coming out of their own conditions, such a victory is certainly a great achievement. I think our boys gave a lot of effort on the field. We tried to somehow win the match and Alhamdulillah we succeeded.'
Apart from taking 6 wickets in the match, Taijul also contributed with the bat. He scored 30 runs against 116 balls in two innings.
