Modi govt is responsible for attack on Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala: Saiful Haque

General Secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party of Bangladesh Saiful Haque has expressed strong anger and condemnation over the attack and vandalism at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, Tripura state of India. He blamed India's Narendra Modi government for the incident.

Saiful Haque made this comment in a statement sent to the media on Monday (December 2) evening.

He said that anti-Bangladesh radical Hindutvaists are behind the attack. At the same time, he termed BGP's communal exercise at Benapole border and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's speech as extremely provocative and against the sovereignty of Bangladesh.

Saiful Haque said, “Mamata Banerjee's call to send UN peacekeeping forces to protect religious minorities in Bangladesh is an interference in Bangladesh's internal politics.”

He also said, 'Narendra Modi's government should bear the responsibility for these inciting violent activities.'

He claimed that the BJP government of India is systematically spreading false information and propaganda about the religious minorities of Bangladesh and many political parties in India are also supporting it.

In the statement, he urged the Government of India and BGP to refrain from creating anti-Bangladesh communal tension. At the same time, he urged the countrymen to protect communal harmony by confronting provocative activities in the country and outside the country.

It should be noted that on Sunday (December 1) radical Hindutva attacked the Bangladesh Sub-High Commission in Agartala. Apart from this, there have been allegations of BJP's communal exercise at the Benapole border.
