Rohingyas indulge in NID collection malpractices. The Election Commission (EC) said that various dishonest individuals and brokers are helping to make Rohingya voters. Therefore, citizens have been requested to inform the EC if Rohingyas or foreigners try to obtain National Identity Cards (NIDs).
This Thursday EC Assistant Director (Public Relations) said. Ashadul Haque informed this in a press release.
It is mentioned in the circular that recently it is being noticed that Rohingyas are engaged in the illegality of NID collection in the election offices of various districts and upazilas of the country. But according to the Voter List Act, if a person is not a citizen of Bangladesh, he has no chance to be included in the voter list.
It further states that some unscrupulous persons, brokers in Bangladesh are helping Rohingyas to become voters, which is a punishable offense under the Voters List Act and the National Identity Registration Act.
