Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that party chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia was systematically kept away from the armed forces. This was said by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir while talking to journalists at the venue of Senakunj on Thursday afternoon.
Important leaders of BNP including Khaleda Zia joined the armed forces ceremony after a long time. BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was invited to the reception of the armed forces, the chief adviser of the interim government. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir thanked three army chiefs including Muhammad Yunus.
Alleging that Khaleda Zia was systematically kept away from the armed forces, BNP Secretary General said, “Khaleda Zia gave a big time of her life for the freedom of the country, for democracy.”
Mirza Fakhrul also said, 'She (Khaleda Zia) was kept away from the armed forces in a planned way for 12 years. As much as we are thankful for the respect shown to Madam (Khaleda Zia) by the Armed Forces, especially the Chief Adviser to the Government, the entire country felt happy today.'
