American journalist Bob Woodward has claimed in his book that when the Israeli army started attacking Rafah, Biden's temper rose. Biden scolded Netanyahu over the phone. Also abused. According to CNN, relations between the two top leaders of the US and Israel became tense in mid-2024. The incident took place when the Israeli army marched into Rafah after turning Gaza into a crematorium. American journalist Bob Woodward has mentioned this in his book “War”. According to excerpts from the book, during a phone call in April, Biden asked Netanyahu: “What is your strategy against Hamas now?” Netanyahu said Israel would have to move to the Gaza-Egypt border city of Rafah, which the IDF had previously said was Gaza the last stronghold of Hamas and its operation would not extend beyond that.
Abuse between Biden and Netanyahu
Woodward claims in his book that Biden said- “Bibi (Benjamin Netanyahu) you have no strategy”. The US president further said that Netanyahu “doesn't care” about Hamas and “he only cares about himself.” In May, the Israeli army entered Rafah as part of a limited operation. America was very angry with this strategy and action of Israel. After Israel entered Rafah, Biden said about Netanyahu, “He is a liar.” According to Woodward, Biden said privately: “That cum*** Netanyahu is a bad man.” According to the book, Biden shouted on the phone, “What the hell is Netanyahu?” “You know there's a perception around the world about Israel that you're a rogue leader.”
Let us tell you that earlier there was a media report that Biden had used abusive language for Netanyahu in February, but the White House immediately issued a denial. According to Woodward's book, Biden considered Israel's action on the Iranian attack justified. “I know he's going to do something, but the way to limit it is to tell him 'not to do anything,'” Biden reportedly told advisers.
