Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has busted an international drug smuggling network and recovered 1400 kg of powdered poppy. Three smugglers have been arrested in this case. The police have recovered two vehicles with him, in which the drug was being transported from here to there.

Jalandhar Commissionerate Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said that this action has been taken by the CIA staff. Police had received information against the accused. On the basis of which this action was taken. Both the accused are residents of Jalandhar. The accused used to bring drug consignments from Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. The accused also have links with some smugglers from Gujarat. With whom the accused used to supply opium in foreign countries.

The accused have been arrested by the teams of Jalandhar Commissionerate Police. Information about this was shared by tweeting by Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav. The drugs recovered from the accused were packed in sacks. The police will soon present the accused in the court and take them on remand and interrogate them as to where the accused had brought so much drugs from and where they were to sell them.
