How to use WhatsApp's 'low light mode' during video calls

WhatsApp is very popular for calls and video calls without exchanging messages. So this platform added 'low light' mode for video calls a few days ago. This mode can reduce the brightness of the phone screen. Even if the surrounding light is low, video calls can be made comfortably. While video calls have various filters and background options, low light makes video calls clearer.

This feature can be used in both iOS and Android versions. However, there is still no facility to use this mode in Windows apps. To use this mode, the device must have the latest version of WhatsApp installed.

The low light mode is very easy to use. Follow the below steps to use the mod-

1. Launch WhatsApp from your Android or iOS device.

2. Video call anyone.

3. This mode can be turned on when the video call is viewed in full screen.

4. Now tap on the 'bulb' icon on the right side of the screen. This will enable low light mode.

5. Tap this icon again to turn off this mode.

This mode has to be activated every time after starting a video call. There is no option to turn it on automatically. Low light mode can be used as needed.

If the Windows app doesn't have low light mode, you can manually increase or decrease the video call brightness.

In addition to low light mode, WhatsApp can now use various filters and backgrounds during video calls. Users can select their favorite option from 10 filters and 10 backgrounds of WhatsApp. They can create a unique look through filters. Filters include – Warm, Cool, Black & White, Light Leak, Dreamy, Prism Light, Fisheye, Vintage TV, Frosted Glass and Duo Tone. Background options include—Blur, Living Room, Office, Cafe, Pebbles, Foodie, Smooth, Beach, Sunset, Celebration and Forest.
