War could end if occupied Ukraine comes under NATO: Zelenskiy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the war could end only if an unoccupied Ukraine comes under NATO. He said, to Ukraine Under the NATO umbrellaShould be taken and war Hot episodeShould try to stop. British media BBC reported this news.

In a long and wide-ranging interview with Sky News, the Ukrainian president was asked whether he would accept NATO membership only in the territory currently under Kiev's control. In response, Zelensky said he would agree to such a proposal if it first offered NATO membership to all of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders.

He said Ukraine could then try to negotiate the return of Russian-controlled territory through 'diplomatic means'.

But this suggestion is highly theoretical, as Zelensky points out. No one has yet made such an offer to Ukraine. Moreover, it is highly doubtful whether NATO would ever consider such a move.

“Ukraine has never considered such a proposal,” Zelensky said. Because, officially no one has given us such an offer.' He said that the entire country, including the parts currently under Russian control, should be given NATO membership.

In the interview published by Sky News, Zelensky said, 'You cannot give such an invitation to only one part of a country. Why? Because in this way you will know that Ukraine is only the territory of Ukraine, and the other is Russia.'

He said many people were proposing a ceasefire. But any ceasefire without measures to prevent Russia from attacking again is too dangerous. And only NATO membership can provide such a guarantee.

Ukraine's president has already said he thinks the war could end next year if Ukraine's allies show enough resolve.

The so-called West German model of giving NATO membership to a divided country has been under discussion in the West for more than a year, the report said. However, no official proposal has come yet.

During the election campaign, newly elected US President Donald Trump promised to end the war within '24 hours'. Meanwhile, Zelensky himself has said that Kiev wants to end the war by 'diplomatic means' in 2025.

Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula in 2014. Eight years later, the country launched an all-out invasion of Ukraine and seized territory east of Kiev. But it's also worth noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin has so far never given any indication that he has given up his desire to completely subjugate Ukraine. That he would agree to allow any part of Ukraine to join NATO is inconceivable for now.

Moscow launched its second major attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure in less than two weeks on Thursday. Putin called it a response to a 'sustained attack' using US-supplied ATACMS missiles on Russian soil.
