Two youth arrests spreading video on Facebook by a college student on the street


DMP's Demra Police Station has arrested two men for allegedly spreading videos on Facebook. They were arrested from Demra Sarulia Bazar area around 7:30 pm on Saturday (May 7). The arrested were – Md. Roman Sikder (25) and Shubh Howlader (25).

According to DMP Damera Police Station, Dr. Mahbubur Rahman was returning home from the college at around 7:30 pm on February 7 last year at the Diploma Department of Molla College. On the way, some youths in front of the gate of the Tengara Government Primary School made obscene gestures to the student. She told her husband the incident, but the accused were not found. Later on April 7, around 8am, he saw the video of the evangelizing on Facebook. Later, some were identified with the help of locals. A regular case was filed at Demra Police Station in the wake of the allegations of the college student who was the victim of evangelism in the incident.

Police sources also said that after the case was launched, a precursor team of the Demra police station launched a raid in different places. At one point, Demra was involved in the incident from Sarulia Bazar area. Roman Sikder and Shubh Howlader were arrested.

The operation against the arrested is under legal action and the operation to arrest others involved in the incident continues.

The Demra Police Station has garnered praise among the locals. The DMP will continue to take strict action against such crimes to ensure women's safety.
